Deuteronomy 32:15
New International Version
1 Chronicles 28:9
New International Version
9 “And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion(A) and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart(B) and understands every desire and every thought. If you seek him,(C) he will be found by you; but if you forsake(D) him, he will reject(E) you forever.
Isaiah 1:28
New International Version
Isaiah 65:11-16
New International Version
11 “But as for you who forsake(A) the Lord
and forget my holy mountain,(B)
who spread a table for Fortune
and fill bowls of mixed wine(C) for Destiny,
12 I will destine you for the sword,(D)
and all of you will fall in the slaughter;(E)
for I called but you did not answer,(F)
I spoke but you did not listen.(G)
You did evil in my sight
and chose what displeases me.”(H)
13 Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says:
“My servants will eat,(I)
but you will go hungry;(J)
my servants will drink,(K)
but you will go thirsty;(L)
my servants will rejoice,(M)
but you will be put to shame.(N)
14 My servants will sing(O)
out of the joy of their hearts,
but you will cry out(P)
from anguish of heart
and wail in brokenness of spirit.
15 You will leave your name
for my chosen ones to use in their curses;(Q)
the Sovereign Lord will put you to death,
but to his servants he will give another name.(R)
16 Whoever invokes a blessing(S) in the land
will do so by the one true God;(T)
whoever takes an oath in the land
will swear(U) by the one true God.
For the past troubles(V) will be forgotten
and hidden from my eyes.
